This past weekend, I was fortunate enough to have gone to my college reunion at the University of Pennsylvania. After lots of fun and eating, I had to run to the gym to lose the excess calories…and as I was commenting with my trainer about the experience, he came up with a phrase regarding how some people actually looked like, in his words, “life had won”. That phrase had such an impact on me, because that’s exactly what it happens when we stop taking care of ourselves and we let the heavy side of life take a toll on us. The physical is just a reflection of the internal. So extrapolating into skincare…like I always do, I decided to write about maintaining our bodies, and body contouring.
While there are many body contouring treatment alternatives, not one of them exempts you from diet and exercise. In other words, they all require hard work. This is true regardless of your age. It is those who stay committed and disciplined with respect to their objectives who reach their goals. And guess what, the muscle that we need to exercise the most starts in the brain. So how do we help our brains? It takes 21 days to establish a habit and it is by creating habits that support our goals that we reach them. If on top of that you surround yourself by people who support your goals, then you’re golden. Now, I don’t need to go into which habits to take, because, as we all know, these involve nutrition, sleep, and exercise… The sky is the limit when it comes to possible combinations and alternatives.
