I recently sent out a newsletter titled, “August Is Like The Sunday of Summer.” In my case, this has been particularly true given that not only have July and June been as hectic or maybe even more hectic than usual, but the change of pace was quite noticeable in August…and I say this in a positive and much needed way. Slowing down, as we all know, allows us to refresh our minds, reorganize our goals, rebalance our lives, and most importantly, as we take time off from work and allow others to fill in that gap at least momentarily, we realize we have others to rely on…. In other words, anxiety levels are reduced.
While I’m referring to vacation time, another way we can slow down is through meditation. The temporary quiet required by meditation has a similar impact on us and our well being, and hence our health and skin. By incorporating meditation in our lives, we acquire that focus that’s so important to maintain balance and concomitantly improve our well being. Been on Adalat for the winter period started off good but after 2 months my left leg and ankle swelled and itched like crazy felt like dozens of bees stinging my leg. I knocked the Adalat off and it was OK doctor has now put me on Naftidrofuryl going to try but looks as though theres other side effects with these tablets but give them a go triggered by our immune system and high stress levels. I see it every day with my clients to the point that I’ve come to believe that anxiety and other mental conditions should be our next frontier in terms of health and wellness. From psoriasis to eczema, acne and inflammation, our mental health has an impact on our skin and wellness, and to me meditation is a wonderful alternative to maintain those stress levels down, keep our minds focused and organized, and hence improve our skin and bodies.
